Today in N.Y.C. there was a very well planned and
beautiful memorial for so many who lost their life
10 years ago when the trade center buildings violently fell.
I watched our President Barack Obama and his wife
Michelle solemnly standing at the memorial and I suddenly
felt very proud to see our nations first black President and
to know that I was part of a very important time in
American History.
I mean how wonderful is it that a man who's people were
once enslaved was now holding the highest office in these United
States. It does not matter what some people think of him now
as he has lost his popularity since being elected. Just the fact
that the majority of our voters saw the relevance of getting him
there is what sent a pride-filled shiver through my bones.
WE THE PEOPLE did the right thing back then and we will
do the right thing when it comes time to reelect Obama.
Most likely he will not get in office the next time around but we
will know that it is not because he is a black man.
