Carved out of Quarry Stone by the late Harvey Fite, Opus 40 is located on Fite Rd. in the Fish Creek area of Saugerties, NY.You really need to see it in person as this picture is just a tidbit of Mr. Fites work. A local Artisman, Harvey Fite passed away before he finished this great work but it is here for all to enjoy along with the Fite museum on the old homestead. The Quarries along the Hudson River in the Saugerties and Cementon area were
utilized to make most of the sidewalks in
NYC and it's surrounding boroughs (sp).
