Opus 40

Carved out of Quarry Stone by the late Harvey Fite, Opus 40 is located on Fite Rd. in the Fish Creek area of Saugerties, NY.
You really need to see it in person as this picture is just a tidbit of Mr. Fites work. A local Artisman, Harvey Fite passed away before he finished this great work but it is here for all to enjoy along with the Fite museum on the old homestead. The Quarries along the Hudson River in the Saugerties and Cementon area were

utilized to make most of the sidewalks in
NYC and it's surrounding boroughs (sp). Posted by Picasa

Villa Giustizia

My family villa in Collipietro, Italy
The villa extended for 20 miles
down the mountain. the Giustizia family were of nobility. My grandmothers people were elegant, very educated and talented as well.
My father used to tell me stories of what he knew of his ancestors. I wont go into detail but very interesting indeed. I have recently
made many connections with my
Giustizia relatives here and in Canada
and Brazil. They are extended
world wide. Posted by Picasa

Traffickers! Posted by Picasa

Indonesia

My son Kevin made friends with
this Indonesian man. His friend lost his entire family in the Tsunami.
Notice the rubble in the background.
Most of you know Kevin spent
several months in Banda Aceh.
He was able to raise more funds
while he was there to get teachers
to come to Aceh for the childrens
education. The children of Indonesia
are very serious about their studies. Posted by Picasa

Coney Island Hot dogs

The best Hot Dogs around can be
gotten here at Catskills Coney Is.
The front building is where you can
buy all soughts of ice cream cones
and dishes like banana splits &
sundaes, fraps and malts etc.
There is a back building where you get your terrific Sabrett Hot Dogs,
burgers, fries and more. I know that
these Hot Dogs taste even better
than the original Coney Island hot
dogs in Brooklyn, NY. I have made
the comparison :)

Greene Co. Bank

Another one? They are popping up
all over Greene County. This tells
me that there is something big
going on in and around the Catskills.
The Bank of Coxsackie just built another one in Cairo, NY right accross
the road from another Greene Co.
Bank. Oh and Coxsackie has a new greene Co bank as well. The Bank in this picture is at the entrance going into the Strip Mall by Grandview.

used to be. The road in is blocked off, only workers can go
in. They say there is going to be
a gas station here and if you

Walking the Strand

Downtown Kingston was renovated a few years ago and is a hot spot for
tourists now.
Summers are filled with so many things to do and down
town has bands playing or groups
of entertainers almost every night. mayor gallo who passed away suddenly about 4 years ago was responsible for the
renovation and cleaning up the city of Kingston. The Mayor was a young man when he died and
he is missed by the city residents. In the early part of the 20th century Kingston thrived for it's brick which
could be transported via The Esopus Creek and Hudson River to NYC.

The Strand

We had lunch at Ship to Shore. I recommend it for good eating.

Dusk

The sun is going down. I liked this shot! A little history about the
wagon: I located this wagon at a
place going toward Middleburg
NY. it was buried wheel deep in
the muddy snow. I sent my husband
and son in law and my friend Gail
up to get it for me on a very cold
afternoon. Off they went with our dump truck and trailer but not
before they were told NOT to come
home without the wagon. Several
hours later they pulled into the
driveway with this old manure wagon
dragging behind. I heard all the
complaints but once we got into
the house and had a few cups of
tea and hot chocalate in front of
the fireplace the laughter began as
they reminisced about the entire
ordeal. The wagon cost me $300.00
plus the cost of going to get it.
I have been offered $600.00 for
it but I doubt I would ever sell it.
