At our house Christmas is always a joyous occasion, we enjoy good music, we dance and of course we eat from morning till night. We try to keep with the tradition of my family heritage by making certain Italian appetizers and snack foods but we usually cook an American style dinner because we were born in this country. When we sit down at our huge table my son in law starts the prayer giving thanks for all of the wonderful bounty the Lord has given to us and for the life and death of our most beautiful Savior, Jesus Christ. We are going easy on the gift giving this year, I have learned the hard way that beside being very expensive when buying to much as I used to do, my grandkids get overwhelmed when opening gifts and after awhile they dont even look at what is in the boxes.
This year I purchased one gift for each child; they're going to flip when they see what I bought for them. I can't tell you what it is now but after Christmas I will tell you all about it. Tomorrow I am making Strufle as my family call it! Otherwise known in America as honey balls, my kids love them and I have finally learned to like them myself. As a child I wasn't crazy about them..too sweet! Maybe I like them now because I have developed Diabetes and you can guess how much a diabetic might like sweets can't ya? Well friend and or reletive, keep the peace, enjoy your holiday season and walk with your chin toward the sky. Celebrate the birth of Our Lord Jesus with your family and friends and never forget the true meaning of Xmas *wink*
