Bernadette Peters

Bernadette Peters is the stage name of Bernadette Lazarra
born on Feb 28th 1948 in Ozone
Park, Queens, N.Y. (actress and singer)
we have the same cousin and as kids we were good friends
sneaking behind the church to smoke and eat our pb and jelly
sandwich's. Our Mom's were great friends! I remember walking up the block to get Bernadette to come out and play. The Public
School accross from her house was called PS58. I went there for about 3 months in 6th grade. I hated it because I was formerly a
Catholic School girl but standing nex't to Bernadette in the school yard were the only fun times at ps58 because we got to gab with each other. Bernadettes Dad owned a bakery and my parents owned a candy/stationary store and luncheonette near the corner of
94 th street and 101 st. ave. in Ozone Park. Posted by Picasa

Floats Are Fun

Across from my store, we got to see the whole thing :)
I did walk to the middle of town where they had the big Tree and the festival of trees outside the Library in Cairo, NY.
They lit the tree this evening. There
were vendors in the streets and some shoppes were giving free drinks and food items. Others were selling their goods at inexpensive prices. The kids were having so much fun. I introduced myself to Mrs. Sharkey..the school Superintendent..
Nice lady

Audrey

She lived a life of intrigue!
She was a child of war.
A Movie Star and a generous
soul.
Toward the end of her years she
helped the children of our world,
caring for the sick and starved.
A corageous woman now in the
hands of our lord.

Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Stay

Freeman and Florance Stay were on the left, you can barely see Mrs. Stay, she is seen here holding little Gina Justi, her grand daughter. To her right is John Justi and on her left is Anthony Justi, all my 1st. cousins.
My grandmother and grandfather on your right are Cary & Frank Justy.
Originally the name Justy is spelled with a Y on the end, however my Uncle Anthony (Sonny) Justi, changed the spelling to replace the Y with
an I..

Aunt Laura and Grandma

The lady on the left is my Aunt Laura Borelli. She passed away when
she was in her 90's. I hope I inherit
her longevity. My Grandmother, Caroline Justy is on the right of course. She was funny as heck and made us laugh alot. My Aunt Laura's famous son was Chief of Detectives for the Borough of Queens, NY Police Force. He was one of the men who were responsible for capturing the Son of Sam. You can read about him in books or see documentaries about my cousin Joe pertaining to the case.
Now my Grandma was a real charactor, she took no guff from anyone..lol..much like me huh?
I do hear tell that she cut off a few
fingers in her day. See what happens
when you give a mad cook a meat cleaver!
